JP Morgan Asset Management beefs up global hedge fund team

JP Morgan Asset Management (JPM) is broadening its hedge fund solutions investment specialist team that offers hedge fund investments with three appointments.

The hedge fund solution provider which advises clients on more than $17bn in hedge fund assets has hired Lynnette Ferguson to lead hedge fund solutions for its investment specialist team in the Americas and promoted London-based Karim Leguel to be international head of the team, according to a press statement.

Both will report to Jamie Kramer, head of JPMorgan's alternative solutions group the statement from the JPMorgan Chase bank's asset management unit said.

The American multinational has also hired Lyn Ngooi as Hedge Fund Solutions Investment Specialist for APAC clients. Ms. Ngooi is based in Singapore and will report to Leguel.

All three positions are new and effective immediately.

Hedge Fund Solutions is part of J.P. Morgan Global Alternatives, which has more than $130bn in alternative assets under management.

The release quoted Jamie Kramer, Head of J.P. Morgan's Alternative Solutions Group as saying: "In the face of the long-in-the-tooth economic expansion, the threats of a global trade war and the return of equity volatility, investors are significantly increasing their target allocations to hedge funds."
