Proskauer adds partner to investment management practice

Wednesday, December 21, 2022
Opalesque Industry Update - Proskauer, a leading international law firm, is pleased to welcome Ash Ilkhani as a Private Funds partner in its Investment Management practice. Ash brings with him deep experience advising private fund sponsors and institutional investors globally, including in the U.S., Latin America and Middle East on fund formations, joint ventures and institutional investment programs. He will be based in Proskauer's New York office.

"I've had the pleasure of previously working with Ash and have seen firsthand the insightful counsel he provides to clients. I am excited to welcome him to Proskauer and look forward to working alongside him once again," said Monica Arora, co-head of Proskauer's Private Funds Group.

Ash's practice focuses on representing sponsors and managers as well as institutional investors of private funds and joint ventures. He regularly advises domestic and international sponsors in connection with structuring, formation, placement and ongoing operations of a broad range of private equity, real estate, infrastructure and hedge funds; secondary transactions involving private investment funds; and dispositions of interests in asset management firms. Ash also advises U.S., Latin American, Middle Eastern and other institutional investors with respect to their alternative asset investment programs.

"I am excited to join one of the largest and most dynamic teams of fund lawyers in the industry. Asset managers across the globe view Proskauer lawyers as true business partners, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to provide clients with best-in-class service," said Ash.

Ash is the second partner to join Proskauer's Investment Management practice in as many months. In November, the Firm welcomed Registered Funds partner William MacGregor.

"From supporting clients on their headline-making deals and fund formations, to welcoming a number of new team members at all levels, including 10 partners, we have had a terrific year," added Chip Parsons, co-chair of Proskauer's Corporate Department. "As we near the end of 2022, I am pleased to welcome Ash, whose broad skill-set and deep relationships in the private funds industry will be invaluable."

Ash received his B.A. from New York University and his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law. He joins from White & Case.
