Laxman Pai, Opalesque Asia: Leaseum Partners, the first institutional-grade tokenized real estate fund, has introduced a new model of blockchain-backed real estate investments.
The New York City commercial real estate income fund on blockchain is raising a $250m fund to make core-plus acquisitions around the U.S. The fund is targeting a net annual return of 10-12% for investors, claimed the company.
"By tokenizing a real estate fund, we are able to provide institutional, accredited and crypto investors alike easy access to high quality real estate investments," the London-based real estate investment firm said in a press statement.
Beyond providing access to institutional grade, income generating real estate investment, Leaseum Partners is employing blockchain technology to make the fund liquid and issue shares as regulatory compliant security tokens which will be listed on exchanges.
"We are aware that there are several real estate-based blockchain projects and startups that have emerged in today's market, but Leaseum is the first and only project of its kind focused on raising a fund through a token sale that will be dedicated to acquiring core-plus and value add commercial real estate in New York City, paying out dividends to investors in either FIAT or cryptocurrency," said the statement.
It said that the increased liquidity allows investors to exit their investment at any time, dramatically reducing the standard five-plus year lock-up period. ...................... To view our full article Click here
